About the Webinar

Human beings are not very good at making decisions (even though we think that we are). According to the late Nobel Prize winner and psychologist Daniel Kahneman, our decision-making processes are “alarmingly contaminated with cognitive biases.” We jump to conclusions because we give too much weight to the information right in front of us while neglecting to consider what is just out of reach. Fortunately for us, making better decisions is a learnable skill.

In this interactive webinar, we will investigate the difference between a decision and an outcome, as well as our flawed tendency to judge the quality of a decision by how it turns out. We’ll examine the role of luck in decision making, exploring techniques that will improve your ability to predict a set of possible futures. Lastly, you’ll learn some concrete actions you can take to combat the four villains of decision making and significantly improve your decision-making process.

Topics covered include:

  • What does it mean to decide?
  • Outcome bias and the spotlight effect
  • Combating the four villains of decision making
